LifeSense Disease Management

LifeSense has the necessary expertise to manage groups of people living with HIV/AIDS and only employ professional healthcare staff to ensure efficient and effective management of people living with HIV on behalf of its clients. The implementation of an HIV management programme also ensures that medical schemes and employers reduce costs associated with this disease such as hospitalisation and absenteeism. The following steps form part of the management process:

  • Voluntary Counselling and Testing campaigns (VCT)
  • Application to enroll on the management programme
  • Follow up enrolled members
  • Confidentiality
  • Progress reports on members
  • Treatment protocols as set out and agreed upon by the South African HIV Clinicians Society

LifeSense Corporate Healthcare
LifeSense corporate health specialises in bring affordable healthcare delivery to all. Its current portfolio of products includes:
  • LifeAssist, a low cost medical option aimed at the employed but un-insured sector. The product covers Day-to-Day medical expenses, Chronic Condition Cover, Preventative HIV and Trauma Assistance.
  • LifePoint, an innovative speedpoint like terminal, which ensures both confidentiality and ease of use for healthcare providers. A full clinical interface, biometric access combined with low cost communication and financial transaction capabilities provides an unparallel solution to providers. LifePoint accepts Credit, Debit and Smartcard technology and provides further income generating capabilities with the sale of all airtime and energy tokens.
  • LifeSense Medismart, a contactless smartcard, which is being utilised not only by the LifeAssist product but also rapidly becoming the day facto standard for contactless smartcards across multiple platforms and as the card of choice for numerous medical schemes. These Smartcards are already in use in South Africa, Namibia and Swaziland.
  • Chronic Disease management, LifeSense corporate healthcare has a fully functional Chronic Disease management capability enabling corporate healthcare to efficiently manage any chronic disease within the corporate environment. This ensures less absenteeism and greater productivity for the employer.
  • Nurse on the Move: LifeSense Corporate Health care through its Nurse on the move division provides Health Assessments for corporate South Africa. These health assessments include HIV, TB, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Sugar, BMI (Weight) and full medical history analysis. It provides a corporate governance document quantifying healthcare cost and potential problem areas within an organisation. It also provides the necessary solutions which a corporate might need to implement in order to achieve peak productivity.

Financial Services

LifeSense Financial Services (Pty) Ltd compliments the human resources function of employers by providing bespoke retirement fund solutions that meet the staff members’ needs as well as providing individual staff members with retirement fund counselling and financial planning services enabling them to optimise their savings and insurance strategies. LifeSense Financial Services uses the SunGard Omni suite of software to achieve this and thus is able to provide a world class service. SunGard Omni has 46% of the world market for the provision of administration platforms to retirement fund administrators. This enables clients to have access to strategic financial information at any time so that they can focus on what they do best.
